Hubli-Dharwad is a large, well-connected twin city, and for many patients that is itself the reason to look further afield — a bigger city still means a wide personal and professional network, and real privacy can be hard to find inside it. Gossip is not something we hope will not happen; it is a discipline the whole team is trained in and held to.

Many of the women treated here are unmarried — entirely lawful, and it changes nothing at all about the care you are given. For a great many patients this is the first time inside a hospital at all: you are welcomed here, not processed, and someone stays with you through the whole visit rather than only through the procedure.

The decision is yours, and only yours

You do not need your husband's permission, your partner's permission, or your parents' permission. For an adult woman the law asks for her own consent and no one else's, wherever she lives.

What happens here

Sooner is simpler

Earlier in pregnancy the treatment is smaller: less intervention, safer, quicker to recover from, and more of the options still open — including the medication route, which stops being suitable early on. For someone travelling this far it matters twice over, because an earlier treatment is more often a single trip. Planning the trip

Because this is a longer journey than a same-day local visit, a little preparation goes a long way:

• Call or WhatsApp first and tell us the date of your last menstrual period, and any scan you already have. We will tell you what to expect before you book travel.
• Send any existing reports by WhatsApp so less time is spent repeating tests once you arrive.
• Plan for a follow-up. Whichever method suits you, a follow-up visit confirms everything is complete — ask us whether that needs a second trip or can be arranged from home.
• Build in a buffer day before you travel back, rather than booking transport for the same evening as the procedure.

The figure you are given is the figure you pay

Tell us roughly how many weeks you are on the phone and we can usually give you a close estimate — it rests on a recent ultrasound, though, and cannot account for an examination that has not happened yet. When you arrive, our own certified doctors assess and examine you and repeat the investigations, and only then do you get a precise, itemised cost: hospital, medical, pharmacy and laboratory. That becomes a promised package in rupees. Hospital fees are taken in full in advance, and the figure does not move at the end — which matters when you are budgeting a journey as well as a treatment.

The consent form protects you

A termination requires the consent form prescribed by the government to be signed, and that form exists only at premises licensed for this — a pharmacy may not dispense the medicines without it. It records that the decision was yours, taken with a doctor who had examined you, at a place licensed to do it.
