What ‘safe’ and ‘quality’ really mean
When a woman is facing an unplanned or difficult pregnancy, the questions on her mind are rarely about paperwork or money. They are simpler and more human. Will I be safe? Will I be treated with respect? Will someone tell me the truth? Quality care answers all three. It means being looked after in a proper hospital, by qualified people, with clean and sterile equipment, in privacy, and with clear, honest guidance at every step. That is the standard we hold ourselves to, and it is the only standard that matters here.
Abortion, when it is carried out properly, is a safe and routine part of women’s healthcare. What makes it safe is not luck — it is the setting. A government-licensed facility, a doctor making the decisions, the right conditions, and proper follow-up afterwards. Care that is led by a doctor
From the first conversation to the last check afterwards, this is doctor-led care, and that matters more than it may sound. A doctor listens to your situation, examines you where needed, makes sure there is nothing that needs urgent attention, and only then talks through what is suitable for you. Some pregnancies turn out to need different care than a woman first expected, and being seen by a doctor in person is how those situations are found early and handled safely.

A private space, and no judgment
Many of the women we care for come alone, or quietly, and many are unmarried. We want to be very clear about this. You are welcome, and you are treated exactly the same as anyone else. The care is lawful, your privacy is protected, and you will not be lectured or made to feel small. Your reasons are your own. Our job is to keep you safe and to treat you with dignity, and that does not change with your age, your marital status or your circumstances.
Sterile, single-use, and done under proper conditions
A large part of what makes care safe is invisible to the patient, and that is exactly why it matters. Instruments that touch you are sterile and single-use where they should be, so there is no question of an infection passing from one person to another. When a procedure is needed, it is carried out in our own operating theatre, under proper conditions, with monitoring and trained staff on hand. Pai Hospital in Goa has its own theatre, so your care stays under one roof rather than being sent elsewhere.
Honest guidance, and the two routes
Good care begins with the truth. After assessing you in person, the doctor explains what is feasible in your situation and which route is suitable. Broadly, there is a medicine route and a short procedure route, and which one is right depends entirely on your own assessment. It is not something that can be decided from a message or a phone call, and it is never a decision you should make on your own with pills bought from somewhere. We will also never do anything the law forbids. This care is never used to find out or to choose the sex of a baby. That is illegal, and we do not offer it under any circumstances.
Same-day where suitable, and follow-up
Where it is suitable, care can often be arranged on the same day you are assessed, so you are not left waiting and worrying. Just as important is what happens afterwards. We explain what to expect, what is normal and what is not, and how to reach us if you are worried. We see you again to confirm that all is well, and, if you would like it, we talk about contraception so that you stay in control of what comes next. Care that ends the moment you leave the room is not complete care; follow-up is part of doing this properly.
Why it is always in person
This is the one point we never bend on. To receive any abortion service, you must come to the hospital in Goa in person. We do not send medicines by post or courier, and we do not carry out abortions over the phone or online. A call or an online consultation is genuinely useful — it lets us understand your situation, answer your questions, and tell you whether treatment is feasible and what the next step is — but the treatment itself is always done here, in person, safely. Anyone offering to post you pills, or to end a pregnancy remotely, is putting your health at risk.

I am not married. Will you still help me, and is it lawful?
