"Test tube baby" is simply the everyday name for IVF. The egg and the sperm meet in a small dish in the laboratory, not in a tube, and the embryo is then placed in the mother's womb, where the pregnancy grows in the normal way. Whichever version you watch, the doctor will explain at your consultation how each step applies to you.
